I have a problem with today’s post. I know what I want to say (have been thinking about it for almost a week), but I still don’t know how to say it.
So let’s try. What I want to say is that we must be careful of spending money on things that don’t work or, perhaps more accurately said, that we cannot make work.
I am very positive about network marketing or MLM, although I am not currently involved with any company. Some opportunities you can join fairly cheaply, others cost a lot of money and then you are pressurised to buy a lot of stock. Even encouraged (although it is denied) to borrow money to buy the stock. I know, I was at the meetings as a member.
I attribute a lot of my current success in my Short Term Insurance Business to the training and experience I gained from the various network marketing companies that I was involved with – it is the training and experience that count, not the product or payment plan! That means that MLM is probably the cheapest and lowest risk business training and exposure to business available to normal people. Don’t be negative about it. But that is not quite what I want to share, although it is part of what I want to share.
What I also want to say is: don’t spend a lot of money on experiments, unless you are sure that you will at least try to make it work. I am currently investigating internet marketing opportunities. It is amazing how costs differ. But they all have something in common – you have to work! Yes, I agree, it is only “two -three hours per day”, but consider that a normal working day is at least 8 hours, then it boils down to something else! And all these opportunities come with books and DVD’s that you need to study so that you can apply the principles. Do you have the time and energy to do all of that? Oh, I know how we fool ourselves, just click on my picture, then you don’t have to look in the mirror! But that is only part of what I want to say! Remember, there is no way to make money without some effort. Even robbing a bank requires effort. Even playing the lottery requires some effort. We need to work to build a business. At the end we can probably take it easy, but to get going takes a lot of hard work. Just think about the space shuttle leaving earth to get into orbit. Once in orbit, it uses a fraction of the energy needed to get it into orbit!
Selling is part of every business, no matter what you do. Whatever business you do, people need to know about it and you have to get to the point where you ask somebody to trade money for what you sell. If you have a problem with that, you have a problem with business. And this is something that I really want to share, be very sure that you CAN sell and market BEFORE you spend your life savings on a business! I don’t care how you master the art of selling, but do it before you lose your shirt! And that is why I like MLM. In the links there is a link “Make extra Money Easily”. It is a MLM that I am involved with, simply because it is cheap and I get so much information about running an internet business – the training and tools are exceptional. And I can make money at the same time. But I am not really doing any of those things! And this I want to share with you: I ask myself, why do I want to spend $100 to buy a internet marketing system, if I am not working at my $6 a month opportunity? And that is a question that we all need to ask ourselves before we buy into any opportunity, be it MLM, a franchise or any other business! That I wanted to share.
And I will close with this, in the current economic climate, a lot of people have to start earning their own income. I sometimes think most small businesses are started by force and not by choice! If you are in that situation, get good advice before you start spending money. I know, from experience what it is like, because I have also been retrenched in my life! But even better, don’t wait until it happens, start today. Start a part-time business today so that you are able to face the bad things if they happen. And if it never happens, you have not lost anything at all. In fact, you will be a better employee because of your experience and will therefore have more opportunities.
That is not quite what I wanted to say today, but it is enough. I hope it helps.

There’s a wealth of information here. Thanks! I’ll be back for more.
