Amazing how life works, is it not? Often we just need somebody to pull back the drapes a little bit so we can get a glimpse, and then everything changes!  We never see the world the same way again.

In South Africa we have an electricity supplier ESKOM.  The less said, the better.  Personally I think they should be privatised 3 decades ago.  Eskom is trying to increase electricity prices even more to build a nuclear power station.  And I cannot but think back to the story with which this series started – mucking horse manure in the streets.  Will I ever see ESKOM’s boss with the shovel?  Unless he heads off to India to see what that country is doing about electricity, I hope I live to see him shovel the stuff.  Just read about India’s Solar Power Plants.  See what leadership with vision can create, instead of break ing down. 

Why don’t Shell follow BP’s lead and instead of ruining the Karroo, it helps South Africa.  Look at the joint venture of BP and Tata regarding solar energy.  Solar energy is a source, not a resource.  It is free.  In time BP-Tata will charge a small fee per kwh for harvesting the sun – and make millions.  Because they are not focusing on horse manure.  I call it vision.  And I know where I will put my money!

There is a saying:  follow the money.  If you want to know who benefits from turmoil in the Middle East, follow the money.  If you want to know why the press never reports on this, follow the money.

So here is another “follow-the-money” story.  We all know that China is not very environmentally focused?  Right?  We all know that China is not too worried about damage to nature, right?  In fact, when it comes to nature conservation, China is probably enemy number ONE, right?  WRONG!  Who wants us to believe that?  Follow the money!

And why does all the activists in the world ignore the following?  Well, follow the money?

What happened to the forests and trees in China over the last decade?  Did it increase?  Decrease?  Decrease by 10%?  Perhaps 20%?  Perhaps 50%?  If you automatically said decreased, like I did, then ask yourself WHY you say it.  The fact is, since 1981 China planted over 40 Billion trees.  Read about it here.  I’d say that is doing a lot more than they have to.  Surely that should do something for global warming?  And why don’t other governments follow the example?  Why don’t the gloom and doom activist groups get in and organise this world wide?

But most of all, should you and I be worried about horse manure 9 foot deep on the streets, or should we join the future.
